Depot Beach Encounter

This painting is a memory of an encounter I had with a kangaroo many years ago. This lovely beach is situated down in the Murramarang National Park on the South coast of New South Wales. Whilst enjoying a picnic lunch with my mother and family, I was approached and confronted by a large, male kangaroo who was intent on having my sandwich. Being the brave soul that I am, I immediately discarded the sandwich in favour of safety. My dear mother still recalls this event all these years later. The event in fact happened at Pebbly Beach, but artistic licence got the better of me.
