This painting of a section of cliff face painted plein air on the shore of Depot Beach is a response to the views of Australian artists and photographers such as Max Dupain who often depict Australians looking out across the seas. In my representation I am acknowledging that often the opposite is the case. The low angle and earthy, ochres represent the size and colours of this huge continent
