I was commissioned to make this painting of the landscape outside Queenstown in the South Island of New Zealand. It is a beautiful, picturesque part of the world, embracing both rugged, snow covered mountains and the deep blue waters of Lake Wakatipu. It is a part of the island that we often visit as the colours and landscape of Middle Earth are forever changing.
